BREAK-IN OIL FOR REBUILT ENGINE
Rebuilt the engine on my gto 389. Heard that non-detergent oil should be used. How about weight and brand....10-30 or straight 30 weight?

Brad Penn or Comp Cams makes a great break in in oil. I wouldn't touch anything else. I use the Brad Penn regular oil in my car now.
My builder (The same one that Tom S uses) gave me the Comp Cams break in oil. |

I switched over to Lucas 30w break-in oil and have broke in six engines so far with the Lucas. High in ZDDP and has worked out well. The price from my local machine shop is very good at $4.50 a quart in 5 quart containers.
