60 ' time
I been working to get my car to hook. Just curious, if you can take 1/2 second off your 60' time, what does it mean off the ET in the 1/4? Will all else remain the same?

The Viking crusaders are around 300 a pair shipped from Vikings. Get the AM valving from the get go. Get the front first then the rear when the budget allows. JS Pontiac is the 10.88 run on the track? I think you need to run some real slicks as your car is making some serious power. Good luck. I'm sure my car will be like yours when I get it out this summer.

It drive me crazy to see some some guys faster than me hook with stock suspensions. Nothing fancy. I did not do a good burnout either and it was 27 degrees on an unprepped road. The car is making power, on the the street the torque hurts me. If I every did it over, I would have done a shorter stroke for a turbo street car to loose some torque. |

That will take a lot! I agree with a boost controller, it should help , but very little hooks on a cold road like that!

I think if you take off .5 in the 60' you can figure it will turn into at least. .8 at the end of the track

.5 sec in 60 ft. is a lot to shave off. Curious what plans you have to accomplish that?

Thanks all, I found a great thread on YB on the Viking shocks. I am going to start with the rear shocks, they are very helpful and answer questions at viking. Some fast cars running them too. Yes they did say am valving.

Car 60' time is 2.1. Spins real bad. Just bought slicks. I spin all of 1st part of 2nd and still trap at 139 mph. The car weights 3800. I figure a 1.6 does not seam that far fetched. Car is boosted, that is at 10 psi
I have video but you can not upload videos on this site. |

To get it to hook on a street aurface you will probably be better off investing in a boost controller. Ease the boost. Also...go with a bias ply soft side wall tire. Drag radials do not recover from spinning nearly as well as a soft side wall tire. Ive tried many options in my street race days.

With the spohn adjustable upper arms, maybe they need adjusted to hook?
The stock type is very bad for any kind of traction usually. (made for comfort and softness originally) It would be best to have the suspension scaled. Interesting link for some ideas: Shope Calculators
