Default Fastest door-car pass at Norwalk 2019

What will be the fastest Pontiac-powered door-car ET and MPH at Norwalk this year?

Post your guess. Closest wins a whole pound of ice cream at Norwalk 2020.

I like that number! They have the power to go even quicker, but weather, track prep, exact tuning, perfect planet alignment, pure luck, all come into play for the best ever runs.

Kauffman's rear engine dragster has gone 244.29 MPH and that is the current MPH record I think. However, about 10 days ago they were quietly testing at Norwalk during the Oldsmobile Nationals in absolutely terrible air 4500 Ft. DA and may have gone even a little faster MPH! They ran a 5.86 that day, which is fantastic. However their 5.841@ 244.29 is still the record unless I have missed something. We have run 243.37 MPH in our 2500 lb. funny car. The Kauffmans do not publish or talk about the weight of their rear engine dragster which adds to the mystique and mystery surrounding their efforts. Under the right conditions, Butler, Welter, and Cooper are all within striking distance to being the quickest and fastest. Steve Dale is also in the mix with his new engine program as well as a few others I have missed I am sure. If the track is excellent, and the weather is good, some records could be set in a number of categories. Good luck to everyone, be safe.

NHRA Top alcohol dragsters are around 2000lbs... I'm sure they are in that range... they dont talk about it because it would show their lack of hp.... the others you mentioned are 4-500lbs heavier and right there with them... striking distance as you called it..

Forgive any misspellings.....Tommy Yeoman and Ben Wilkinson are likely contenders.
