Quadrajet ID number question
Okay, I’ve had this Q-jet lying around that my dad was once running on his (now my) 67 GTO. I’m a bit confused as to the ID number. It says on the body 7040263 which translates to a Pontiac, 70 model year unit for a manual transmission.
Here’s where I get confused. There’s no plant code and, what I assume to be the Julian date says 3426. Do you think that this is a re stamped carb? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Service replacement units (produced after the model run) did not have picking (plant) codes (no need for them).
The 342nd day of 1976 would certainly qualify as a service replacement unit. Jon.
