Default I'm the new owner of The Rotten Banana

After bugging Brent for a few years, i finally own his wagon. It has always been a dream of mine to either own a factory T-41 4 door or wagon, especially in monarch yellow. I had a 2 door back when I was in my early 20s and I regret selling it. I remember the days when you could buy a complete front end on these cars for a couple hundred bucks, boy has times changed.

Hard to beat Jim Hand's example of how cool a wagon can be. Hope your build goes well!

Yeah, those old wagons are cool.

The 1st one I saw was the Tons-a-Fun Stocker, of Gary & Charlene Wood. Use to love those pics of it lifting the left front high in the air, at launch. It ran quite well, with a 455HO & a D-port 455.

i loved that car when i owned it. i had it for years and believe it or not traded a white 69 judge for it. it had a 4bbl and a ram air set up on it when i got it. and had a 3:23 posi in it with a formula steering wheel. sadly it looks like that it has gone down hill a little bit since I sold it maybe 20 years ago. I had a lot of fun with that car. it would probably disturb you to know how rough I treated that thing. it went thru Oklahoma hillbilly pasture shooting, jumping terraced land, drag racing, back dirt road racing, etc... and hey boss yes it was used for that also just like a lot of others

So what you're saying is, I can blame you for this dent and the bent valance, LOL. I sent you a PM with my number if you can call me. I would love to hear the story on the car.

actually that was done when I got it. back then there was maybe a couple of really small spots of rust starting and the paint was very nice looking. interior was near mint. and it ran like new.if you would lightly brake it just to get the tires really smoking, it would lay down a really good burn out all the way thru first and get a good second gear scratch. we would load up 3 or 4 in it and do drifting out in the pasture. man life was a party back then.

Translated, this means Gary had sex in (or on) the car.

Sorry I missed this thread the first time around - looking forward to the progress.

That is one sweet combo. Perfect setup for a driver with the HO heads and 3.07’s. Luv it!

Incidentally, that would be the perfect tow car for my 72 GT (also Monarch Yellow, T-41).
