Default Pontiac Blueprint

Something from my personal stash.

Take note of the initial date of the blueprint as well as what year the car started out to be.

Interesting.

My dad worked on the "P2" program for CPC as an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer reporting to Hulki Aldikacti.

I've got some pictures like that in the basement.

That is only a picture on here. That is the actual blueprint which is part of my collection.

I had it stored in a tube and a few years ago the wife took it out of the tube (), snuck it out of the house ( ) and had it framed as a surprise gift.

Very cool piece!

Do you happen to have any other Pontiac blueprints?

Rocky, I got so much stuff, even I don't know everything I have. That's why I didn't know the blueprint was missing until I got it back as a Christmas gift a few years ago. Don K. knows about the blueprint, he may have seen it too.

Yes. The "P" body was the designation for the Fiero. The Fiero didn't come out until 1984, the blueprint calls it a 1983.

The red "Flair" pen markings are changes that the designers/engineers felt needed to be done. That is why you see different dates in the revised box.

Ah - found it!

This is what I was referring to.

This was to be the frame structure for the P2, or next gen Fiero.

It was a combination of hydroformed aluminum tubes and stamped aluminum panels, adhesively bonded together, to create the more familiar Fiero shape. (Dad was one of the four GM patentholders on the hydroform process).

There was also a scale model, made of steel. I've donated both of these to the GM Heritage Center collection.

Aluminum huh?

That would have put Pontiac years ahead of MoPar with their Prowler project.
