Some updates: I had someone complain about the durability of the fan guard waterslides a while back. He clearly didn't read the instructions, and honestly I'm not sure how the heck he managed to get it so mangled, but it's been in the back of my mind. After working with him and refunding his money, it irked me that he left a bad review on my Etsy store. So, I had some regular adhesive decals made for '64-'66 cars for guys who care more about durability rather than originality.

I haven't found a place that can do the embossed surface of the SD valve cover decals and I've looked high and low. Even if I produced them as flat decals they'd be an improvement over the current repros, but I'm going to keep hunting because having the embossed part would be super cool.

Finally, I had someone reach out from the Corvette community about air cleaner silk screens for '63-'69 cars so I've been doing some research and made screens that I think cover most cars. Very similar to Pontiac in most cases with different part numbers or ink colors. I've also been working on the art for oil canisters. Apparently the sources who were doing these before have retired or closed. As I understand it, there was a fairly big merger of Corvette resto houses recently (kind of like PY -> Ames) and the silkscreen service may have been a casualty. It's also been historically very expensive, so I'm down to make a few DIY kits for these guys.

Lastly, I'm debating upgrading my printer setup because it's really time consuming to make the waterslides - two passes of white then a pass of color on top. The yield is fairly low because the registration is unpredictable due to running the paper through so many time. Not an insignificant investment as they're several thousand dollars, but I think it would save time and produce a higher quality output.

I've been softpedaling the air cleaner screens because they take a lot of time to make and I wanted to ensure folks could apply them and be happy with the results. About a year in, I've received overwhelmingly positive feedback on them so I'm starting to think about how to better scale the production.

'67-'68 Corvette air cleaner screens are identical to the Pontiac Ram Air/HO version, just with a different air cleaner code (C and CW instead of CX for Pontiac). Easy to make since I already had the art.

'69 Corvette is identical to the Pontiac screen minus the two letter code. This one goes under the lid.

Finally, the work in progress oil canister art. Not sure if any early Pontiacs used something like this? I picked up an old '64 Vette canister to clean up and practice on. Definitely a little out of my element with this Corvette stuff.

Ken, I have to say, this is definitely artwork! And a great plus to the Pontiac hobby. Your attention to the finer details is second to none. Thank you sir! PS, do you have a link that shows all of your available decals?

That's pretty cool that you can make silk screen masks.

I'm happy with the way these are coming out. I had a few email back and forths with the owner of an NOS oil canister and got the art pretty close. Duplicating the art is definitely getting faster now that I've number of screens and decals.

Art output on a transparency and overlayed on the NOS canister to check for size...

Screen burned and taped to canister...

Test screening. This the the biggest screen with the most surface area of ink that I've done so far. The ink came out a little blotchy. That could be due to the gloss finish on the canister and the multiple passes I had to make due to the small squeegee I was using, but then again, the originals weren't perfect either.

Comparison between original and my screen. I see a few opportunities for more tweaks before calling these good.

Altho our processes differ the end result is the same.
My issue with air cleaners is that to do it and replicate the factory method,
it needs to be done with the finished air cleaner in hand.

Any chance you can make this? No one preproduces the correct PH decal for 79 400 4 speed Formulas.

Sure, I can make that. I've had a few requests for those air cleaner decals. Do you have an original to reference?

If the repros are close, I can use one as a reference. However, typically the fonts, spacing and sizes wrong which is why I started this project. Let me check around and see what I can come up with. Sometimes past eBay auctions are a great reference for originals.

Hello Ken, I have two GTO's and five Corvettes that I would like to purchase some of your decals. Do you have a website that lists all of your products and method of purchase? I have several friends at NCRS and Corvette Forum that are also interested in purchasing. Thank s, John
