Default Rear Springs

I need rear springs for my 72. The one from Ames will be to low. What springs are you guys using on 68-72 A body with 275/60/15? Pictures would be helpful.

Coil Spring Specialties will build you custom springs. I had purchased the 'correct' rear springs back in the 90's and as most here know, that gave a tail dragging look.

I asked CSS to make some .75" over stock. Pulled the 'correct' one's out, put the custom one's in and the height was raised .75".

My new rear springs (2012? Or 2015?) from Ames were too low.

I used a pair of Vista Cruiser station wagon rear springs on my 69 GTO when I was running 305/50/15 rears.

I use Eaton cargo coils on my 1972 LeMans vert with 275/60/15 tires on the back and they work well. The tires jack up the rear slightly.

Default Moog CC501 Cargo Coils work very well.

The raise the rear just slightly and stiffen the ride a little bit. No more sagging.

We've used them on ALL our 1968-72 A-body and 1969-72 G-body stuff.

If your Ames springs are too low, easy to find an insulator kit for upper and lower that will help boost the rear up a bit instead of replacing the springs.

The previous owner of my car replaced the front and rear springs shortly before I purchased it, I believe they’re Dorman springs. They’ve settled down a little since these photos were taken.

The rear springs in my car have those adjustable bolts in them now. They were in there when I bought the car. I was going to buy the moog CC501 and the CC507 and return the one I do not need.
