I'll take one of each! I don't discriminate

Absolutely love the S&W Model 19. Fits my hand perfectly and is incredibly accurate, even the short barreled variety. But, it’s hard to go wrong with Colt, S&W, or Ruger, and it really just boils down to personal preference. If possible handle all three to see which one feels the best, which one “throws up” the best and which one makes you a more accurate shooter.

I’m currently doing field studies on what feels best.

For a long time I switched to .45 and .40, i’m now really liking the 9 mm round much more.

When it comes to my favorite carry its my M&P shield plus. I've done trigger jobs on others but I'm leaving the shield alone,,one of the better factory triggers I've had.. I'm not much for carrying a wheel gun even though I like shooting mine.

9mm pistols CAN be excellent self defense weapons depending on your choice of ammo. My preference is the 147 gr subsonic. It works well, especially out of 3.5-4 inch barrels.

Shooting Times magazine did a 9mm vs. .38 special comparison in 1994 and found the Hornady 9mm subsonic load, using the 147 gr. XTP bullet was one of the top performers, across both calibers.
So your preference is not unfounded.
