2021 POCI convention
Does anyone know the date of the car show and awards dinner at the 2021 convention in Conn?

Convention is July 11-15. The car show should be Wednesday & Thursday--points judged Wednesday, popular vote Thursday, with the dinner Thursday night. That's how we did it in 2018 at Wisconsin Dells, with the same Sunday-Thursday schedule.

Curious - why isn't 2021 in Tulsa as they weren't able to have it this year?

Have I missed conversation about this? It doesn't seem right that Tulsa doesn't get the 2021 convention, no fault of theirs they couldn't have 2020 due to virus. What gives?

Tulsa doesn't get the convention in 2021 because all their contracts were for 2020. The contracts for Conn in 2021 have also already been signed. No it's not their fault the 2020 had to be cancelled but you can't cancel the Conn one too. With a little luck Tulsa will get the 2022 convention.

Will there be a concourse room inside of the POCI convention? When I went to a Barrett Jackson auction at Mohegan Sun the cars were in the parking garage. It was dark and the ceiling height was really low. It was horrible.

Never been to one of these conventions. Being it is somewhat close this year, I am wondering what they are like? Doubt I would stay overnight. 1 night at the most. What events occur /planned?
Is it lively? Road trips, modified cars ? A bunch of 65+ y/o dudes with perfectly restored stock cars listening to 50's music? Not being smart , just inquiring to get a feel. |

Worth the trip for Wednesday/Thursday if you’re close
I’m here with my family (didn’t bring either Goat) and I highly recommend it. Many great examples of GTO’s, some Firebirds, GP’s and a lot of other full size cars. After being at two POCI and one GTOAA convention, it’s worth going if the show is within a day’s drive if you enjoy seeing nicely restored/some survivor type cars. Personally, I’d drive further but I appreciate almost every car here. Not to mention great conversations with other owners and there were definitely some good pieces in the swap area. Great to look at a correctly restored car like the one you’re doing at home, too.

That ‘66 wagon was awesome. The only car I took a picture of! I really don’t take car pictures anymore.
Wonder why Fonzies dream rod said Monkees on the side?

Are the concourse/judged cars still inside till 3pm today? I plan on going today but don't want to waste my time if the concourse cars are done being judged.

At the convention now. I guess the convention flea market is a thing of the past. Nothing to speak of here and nothing to speak of at the last one in Gettysburg. It was one of the things that I looked forward to. I take it everyone just sells on line now. I really miss pawing through people’s crap.

The GTOAA Nationals had only 14 vendors. If you want to peruse parts galore, you need to go to Norwalk with hundreds of vendors selling Pontiac parts!
