Would be nice if there were more pics of distributor gear. Lobes look good to me, but I'm just a novice. I agree with last two post. Like mentioned, you could check the lifters while you have the valley pan off.
If it were mine I'd do the checks, install Polymer gear, change oil/filter, close it up and run it. Check oil pressure and check timing.
