the only way i could own anything that nice is to win it, so i'm thinking about dropping $25 and see what happens. I've wasted more on less.

Ingot it too. Haven’t entered yet because I figured they’d send another email when it was getting close

I would have bought some tickets, but they require a credit card instead of taking PayPal ... can't imagine their data security is cutting edge.

I bought the $25.00 ticket package. Money is going to a good cause.

Sadly that may or may not be the case. This promotion has a long sordid history. The short of it is that professional fundraisers take the lions share of the cash in exchange for raising funds. Often the charities are "sound a likes" for well known charities that can do their own fundraising.

That’s a shame but not surprising. I usually give my money to local fund raisers where I know exactly where the funds are going,

Won’t take pay pal, sounds suspect to me. I wouldn’t chance it.

I don't understand the fascination with paypal. Lot's of place don't take it.

I don't have it, don't need it.

My credit card protects me from fraudulent charges just fine.

Dealing with the fraudulent charge is not a big problem. But you still have to get a new card with a new number ... and HOPE that's all the info they stole. They could easily have any other financial info they could glean from your credit card account.

PayPal adds another layer of security to purchases. I always use it for any purchase from a vender I feel might not have the resources to protect their information the way they should. With PayPal the vender will never have access to your credit card info at all.

You don't thnk that Paypal's system can't be breached?

They have info on you too.

Heck, Equifax was breached. Target, Ebay, Yahoo have been breached.

I do carry identity theft coverage to protect myself. I'm not going to kid myself that by using Paypal I will never suffer a problem.

The coverage is inexpensive.

My exposure using my cc... $20k+, my paypal acct, just under 2,500.. But beside that, my cc sends me a text every time it gets used. It can be turned on or off by us at anytime. While we are travelling, it stays off until we need to use it. The only drawback is that you must be able to connect to the internet, and some of the places we visit, there is no internet. Thats when cash comes into play.

Don't see PayPal on that list.

Hey, use whatever you want. I use PayPal.

I received an order from Ames with the promo flyer inside, so I purchased $25 worth of tickets, which is 20, and with the Ames promo code, you receive an additional 10 tickets.

Well, the promo code did not work, and I did not get the 'extra' 10 tickets.

I guess I have been hosed again, oh well, it was only 10 tickets and I am sure I wan't going to win anyways, but it leaves me salty.

Thumbs down No way.....

I got the Ames email too.

Now I really can't see any problems in me sending my CC information to someone that I don't know on the other side of the world, because I just KNOW I'm going to win that GTO and they will ship it right over to me

On second thoughts.......

Ian

I had a Pay Pal account at one time back around 2003 but never used it. A couple of years later I got an email saying it was hacked. I called them and said cancel it. Never had anymore problems with Pay Pal, or the hackers that sent the email saying it was hacked.

I talked on the phone with someone yesterday at 'Dream Give away', told her the situation, and this morning I receive an email with 10 'Bonus' tickets.

What do you know? I'm not salty anymore.
