40yr old technology....some one said the left rear is loading when the right rear should be the side loading.
Someone else said the snubbers on the slapper bars are in the wrong location...therefore the suspension isnt loading right...
Help me out here guys...i have always got good info from the board members here...not so sure I want to listen to all the strange theories I get at the track...you know ...the guy running a honda that wants to tell me what I should do ...
Thanks in advance!~

Do the snubbers hit the spring or the spring eye?
Need to hit the spring eye to work correctly.
Been years, but also remember thinking the R/R needs to be more close(if not touching) the spring eye.

On the Bird we run the Competition Engineering traction bars; they are j-bolt style and longer than most but still had to add about 2" of metal at the front to place the snubber right under the spring eye. Actually replaced the snubber with a 1/2" diameter bolt that is threaded through the metal extension. That way we can adjust the clearance between the bolt and the spring eye very easily. Found that 1/4" on the left and 1/8" on the right worked the best for us. Having said that, it appears that you had more traction issues even with the new M/T's? Did you try different launch rpm's? or maybe the track was not prepped very well?

How much air pressure? How much burnout?

On slicks, too little tire pressure will cause the rear end to "float". Not enough burnout and they won't hook.

Default tires

A friend tryed slicks but left the low profile wide radial tires on the front and almost took out both sides of the track. Either skinny radials or front skinnies to match the slicks. Not seeing what was happening thats my only thoughts. Rod

Default back in a few

Takin the Mrs. to dinner so gotta hurry....more to come later and thanks for the help...
Too little air pressure at first...15lbs...went to 23.5 and was much better as far as float . Still spinning in first and second...

Burn out....kinda tuff with a stick and no line lock...just too dang excited to wait till i had both... come out of the box and blurp the throttle in second gear to get the burnout started...stab the brake...but not too much...its a bit to try and facilitate but i manage....5 to 8 second burnouts..not long enough but the damn thing wants to come around on me...lol..

Are you running at Sacto or Infineon? Wednesday night drags? I'm going to make it up there (Infineon) one of these days soon. Maybe us bay area guys should meet up there.

yeah, get a line lock. You need to see smoke. When the slicks are ready they'll start to bite and pull the motor down. You get to where you can tell when a burnout is done.

If your car is not stable down the track you need to do as suggested. I have the same problem with the T/A and it only gets worse the faster you go. And get the line lock.

check it out bird freak, wednsday nights are the worst. my mustang bracket car runs in the mid 12s with a 1.7 60' time. At the e.t. races the car hooks up and goes straight. on a wednsday night at sac, the car is slip n slide down the entire track. every time. The mustang is stock suspension. maybe try a test n tune or e.t. race. oh, sorry guys for bringing a ford into the subject. wednsday nights=12.97-13.2. e.t. race=12.7s.
