300lbs in 1/8?
Anyone have any idea the et/mph improvement from removing 300lbs does for 1/8, roughly?

To give you a general idea, my 73 was 450lbs heavier than the 68, same motor & trans, 3.42 vs 3.50 gears. The 73 was typically in the 7.2 and 7.3xx range around 94mph while the 68 is in the 6.7 and 6.8 range around 103 mph depending on weather.
The 68 does have a better suspension setup , which of course will also contribute to the ET. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

Wallace Racing has a calculator on there that is called New ET from weight change. You can input 1/8 mile data however I suspect it is meant for 1/4 mile.

100 lbs is about .03 in the 1/8, so 300 lbs would be around. 09 to a tenth max. I have talked to people that have only seen .02 per 100 lbs. I took out 50 lbs 2 years ago on back to back passes and I didnt see anything.

Curious, with all else being equal, would a car using a tall rear gear (say 3.08) benefit more from the weight reduction vs the same car geared with 4.11?

FMile Pontiacs, we know you meant .06 instead of .6 but that is still very good for 100 lb reduction. Back in the day you use to hear .1 for every 100 lbs but I always thought that was just wishful thinking.
