Default Fire jacket suggestions

Last season was my first time on the track in almost 50 years. Went on 3 different occasions and plan on more for next year. I'm only running in the mid to upper 12's right now but hope to improve that. I'd also like to get a fire jacket for next year so I'm looking for suggestions on what to get as far as protection ratings, brands, what to look for, etc. Thanks

You could get by with an SFI-1 rating but SFI-5 is a lot more protection without a lot of extra bulk. And the -5 will still be good as you get faster and faster.
I'd get a pair of gloves too. If there's ever a fire, bare skin gets attacked first.

I had to wear a -20 suit in the funny car and was sure happy with that when we had the fire. I've seen slower cars hit walls and fire is ALWAYS a possibility.

I would get a -5 jacket. Any brand will be fine, I like my Sparco. And please no Pajama pants...
