Default '64 GTO front clip on a '65

Hello, I was wondering if someone could tell me if a 64 GTO front clip will fit on a 65 body? Will the body lines on the 64 fenders match with the 65 doors. Thanks.

The body lines should match up as the 64 and 65 doors are the same, or essiential the same. The clip should bolt right up. Why you would want to I don't know!

How about a 64 GTO (El Camino)?

My question is:

Is the front edge of a 65 El Camino door the same as a GTO door? LOL!

Jerry, thanks for the reply! What about the rear tail light panel, will the one from a '65 fit a '64? Reproduction quater panels are listed as the same for both. The reason I ask is because I am just thinking about my next project.I would like to build a prostreet 64 gto or lemans but I do not really care for the 64 taillights. Thanks.

Default 64 GTO front clip on a '65

I was told there was a good 64 GTO front clip on a car at a wrecking yard several years ago.I walked all over the place, but never found it.I finally walked back up to the office and asked them one more time if the car was even still in the junkyard.I made one last trip thru the yard before leaving and saw the back of a 65 lemans in the corner in the tall weeds .I walked up to it and looked and bolted up on the front was a complete 64 GTO front clip.It even had the t-3 headlights.I picked it up the next day. They also had a 65 4 door lemans looking car that had Parisienne emblems on it and had what looked to be a factory interior unlike anything i had ever seen. The door panels looked almost like Corduroy jeans .I figured it was either a Canadian model or some one had way too much time on their hands.INJUNBOY

The 64 and 65 quarters are the same, but the tailpanels are not. The tailpanels weld right up to the edge of the quarters, so the taillights will not interchange unless you change out the tailpanel also.
