http://www.sportbikez.net/forum/f12/...-how-to-20444/ Here's a guy who used "quality superflux style like the Lumileds from Phillips brand)"

Are these the same brightness rating as v3.0?

Hey Vic, did you ever see this LED setup from Dakota Digital for 66 tail lights?

http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.c...rod/prd629.htm

Click on the wire cutters on the right in the blue box to see the PDF instructions.

Where in hell have you been hiding Vic? We've missed ya.

Just wondering if you can use the sequential setup from www.webelectricproducts.com. 3 light setup per side. Inexpensive too compared to others that offer it..... STS-1 Sequential Turn Signals, $69.

Oh I've been busy. You know life and ****. Lol. I am already running sequential turn signals and I don't see why it won't work with LED setup I'm planning.

Vic, make sure you use a heavy duty electronic flasher unit.... the plastic one you can see the guts in it. And if you have 4 way flashers, you should use one on the 4 way unit too.

While I am all for DIY for most things, with all the time and cost, would it have not just been as easy to purchase these.....

Nyciti, tho nice but expensive, I don't think you could use them for sequential signal lights. I'd love LEDs but I love my rear sequential signal lights even more on my 66 GTO.

330 bucks for Dakota digital. Pfffffffffttttt. I have like 60 bucks in these. And they will be wired for sequential operation. It took me about two to three hours to make one side. Yes the sloooooww boat from China finally rowed ashore lol. And I have to proclaim

SUCCESS!!!!!!!

Here is a side by side comparison to the stock brake lights, stock brakes is left or drivers side my low buck LED is the right or passenger side.

I took a ton of pics as I made them. I promised wifey PF Changs tonight so when I get home I'll start posting the build pics. If you want to get a jump start here is a list of stuff you will need. Details on each as I post

LEDs here is the link. Remember you need to buy 9 of them. They are sold in pairs. One for each opening of the 66 lens

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2x-Super-Bri...7cf2e7&vxp=mtr

LED dimmer. Here is the link. This is what will run your normal run lights

http://www.ebay.com/itm/DC12V-24V-8A...item43c36500e6

Wire 16 gauge

18x24 1/8th in thick acrylic sheet from the local hardware store. Be sure to get that and NOT plexi glass

Diodes from radio shack (don't be scared. I ll post detail later. It really simple)

Soldering gun (optional)

I used a jigsaw to cut the acrylic and a harbor freight hi-speed grinder with a metal cut off wheel to grind the edges to fine tune the acrylic to fit the lens

I also bought some yellow and red lens tint to experiment with the color. Shown are the LEDS with no tint.
