Guys, I'm shopping for 4 Cragar Keystone mags. 15X7, 5x4.50. Can anyone tell me what the biggest offset I can install without hitting the lower control arm in the rear wheel and the shock absorber bracket? Also, I had the tranny rebuilt on my 63 Tempest, I see some small drops of fluid coming from the park pall and the speedometer cable where they hook up to the tranny. Any ideas?? Thanks

Tom S. could probably tell you about the offset for 63's. Trans leaks?? Is it overfull? would be my first guess. If not, there are "O" rings on the cables where they go into the transmission. They could of gotten a knick in them during installation & may need replacing.

I ran stock Cragers on my 63 wagon with no problem.I think I had 7s on the back and 6s on the front.Did have a rub on the front with the wheels turned on a dip.Had the inner ridge rolled under.Tom

Tom S. Is correct. Check out our cragers on the 63. I went a little lower profile tire in the front to get clearence.

FYI: The car is in storage for the winter - otherwise I'd get you the exact tire sizes.

Thanks guys. Come to think of it, one of the small leaks was from the vacuum modulator and the "o" ring was flattened. I will check the other two places (Park pall and speedometer cable) for rings and possibly create a gasket for them. Cragars it is, I have clearance for 7's both in front and rear, but low profile tires will be considered before purchase. Thanks again guys.

Thanks Radman, I have Cragar SST 15 X 6 all around on my 62 Tempest. Tires are all 195/70/15. About an inch clearance between the tires and the rear fender well. This size tire converts back to a tick above the wagon size of 6.5-15. I had F70-15's on the rear of the car in the 80's and that was a tight fit without rubbing. That size converts over to a 215/70/15 with an 8.6" section width, I think I can fit 225/70/15's in the back with the same tight fit as the F70's according to all the tire charts out there on the web. Section with on the the 225's is 8.9" Just have to measure again before I order.

I dont recall the width of my parnelli jones wheels on my '62, but they are 14's. And i recall a little persuasive massaging of the ball joints in order to get the front to fit. Plus rolling in the front fender lips.

I tried putting Cragar SST 14 by 6 on the front of my 62 Tempest and the edge of the rim hit the outter tie rod. There was no spacer or or massaging that would make them fit. These had a 4" offset. maybe less offset would work. My only option at the time was go to 15" and a lower profile tire in the front.

My front rims do have spacers. It was not by choice.
