Default 62 M/T SD tempest

Killer car on ebay.I have personally seen the car when it was in calif. Not sure how it is now as it has sat a few years since being built but is as close to the real M/T car done many years ago.I can vouch for all the visible rare 421 SD stuff on the engine.Carbs alone are worth 3K.Tom

The seller ovbiously didn't attend the '62 NHRA Nationals- nobody called it the "Summer Nationals" back then.

He says that Proffit (sp?) built it for Mickey. My cobwebbed memory would have said that it was Mickey's car, driven by Hayden? Too long ago to actually remember.

Jack,I believe M/T Hayden and Lloyd Cox built the car WITH much help from Fritz. That was the car that gave me the idea to do my 63 lemans WAY back then.George built the 63 Alu 63 Cat that I had some years ago.If I had room, this car would be in my garage for sure.I have known it was avail for a couple years but the moon and the stars did not line up for me to get it.Tom

Neat car! The $27.5k buy it now price seems pretty reasonable for what you'd get.

DARN I was just a few miles from where the car is located yesturday. Coulda maybe checked it out. That car would look good setting between my 61 and 63 tempest 421sd's. Too bad I don't have a three car garage. HA HA and lucky for me. Could have got some info to pass along.

We were talking about that car this morning - it's got to be worth the BIN - heck, the restoration cost is worth the BIN!

Body, paint, interior, glass, bright work, electrical, wheels/tires, chassis, plating, paint lettering........oh and the original cost of the CAR!

Why isn't anybody hitting the BIN?

Why is there snow in the pictures?

It's a replica, not the real deal. They had all the pictures of the real car in Hot Rod.
