Midstate Dragway - Havana, IL New Owner
Got word yesterday that Bob Gibson has bought Midstate. Great news. Bob is a great guy and has been involved with racing for years. He's also big into nosatalgia racing. Can't wait for him to take over. I can see nothing but good things coming from this. Glad the track didn't get shut down due to the foreclosure.

I was happy to hear this yesterday afternoon also. I hope he has all of his ducks in a row dealing with the forclosure. The bank is stating that it is still going up for auction at the court house and that she can't sell anything she doesn't own. Hopefully he is dealing with the bank.
It will be a good thing for the track if everything works out for Bob.

Our Local track (Muncie Dragway) may be looking for a new Operator next year, Track operator Dave Himes, (RIP) passed away Jan 31st. so his Family, and The staff already in place are going to run it this year. not sure about after that thou. our tracks property is owned by a local farm family, they lease the track out. Dave use to run the Butlers Track down in Tennesee I guess, and raced a few Pontiacs in the past, Hooter, Our Muncie Nostaliga race is in june this year. hopefully it won't rain this time!

They are open. First race is supposed to be tomorrow weather permitting.
