Has anyone used the thermostat gasket with the O-ring as part of the gasket ? Does it work ? Do ya need RTV ?

Not sure about the o ring. but for the seal a gasket,I always use it when water is involved.

I've used them and found no real difference over a regular gasket with a thin swipe of RTV on both sides. As long as both sides of the surfaces are clean and not pitted the seal will be fine. [img]tongue.gif[/img]

I have never had a prob. with no RTV but some say I'm just plain lucky.

I bought the Mr Gasket chrome water neck that comes with the O-ring. I used the O-ring and have had no problems.
