I looked at some crankshaft and AC pulleys that were wrecked because of someone incorrectly mounted them. The 9790843 stamping goes against the crankshaft pulley. If you did it the other way, there is an approx. 1/8" gap left between the two that will crack either pulley when tightened down (more than likely will be the crankshaft pulley, around the retainer ring).

Im asking becuse when i took it apart the number on the AC crankshaft pully was turn to the block then there was a spacer filling the gap between it and the crankshaft pully and ac belt didnt line up,when im turn the AC crankshaft pully whit the number to the radiator and remove the spacer and put the crankshaft pully on it lines up fine, what could the spacer be for,is that something that is not supposed to be there?

Mikael:

That piece you're talking about is not a spacer, it's a reinforcement that goes on last, inside of your outermost pulley. The four bolts which hold everything to the crankshaft dampener tighten against that reinforcement.

Hope this helps.

also, some of the set ups had a rubber ring that fit inside between the two pulleys so they nest together nicely.
