Default Transmission Dip Stick Tube

I obtained the correct transmission dip stick tube for my 67 GTO. The body is on the frame with the engine in place. transmission attached. I am unable to insert the tube into the transmission housing, due to the angle, the tube hits the firewall. Is there some trick or do I have to do the unthinkable, dropping the transmission.

Are you sure it's correct?

It's just an O ring in there.

Default Dip Stick Tube

After looking at your and comparing it to mine, the bends are more pronounced on yours. I was told it was correct for my 67 however it does not appear to be.
It looks like I have to start looking for another.
Thanks Old Goat 67

Contact Andre or Bob Vidan on here, they could probably help you.

Just my for a small bit of advice.

Remember, not all repo replacement parts are as they are stated to be correct. The same goes for individuals that either don't know what they have and/or are just unscrupulous enough to make a sale, and get parts off their hands and out of their hair. I've seen it a few times as have others here on PY. You need to be very careful your purchase is correct. Ask them for photos and part numbers.

You have yet another defective/poor quality reproduction part. The oem dipstick on my '67 can easily be r&r'd with everything in place. It bolts to the back of the cylinder head, and is nowhere near the firewall.
