Australia Day Weekend Cars Part 2
G'day Guys,
What a weekend we have had here Down Under. Yesterday was the car show and cruise (see my other post) and today was a visit to the Victorian Hot Rod Show. The main show is held inside the old building you can see in the background of some of my shots. Most of these cars are trailer queens (not that there is anything wrong with that). Personally I enjoy the cars that the organisers allow to park just outside the main entrance, these are all street driven. I scored a perfect spot in front of this grand old building. Actually this was Aust first parliament house. Hope you enjoy the select few pics. |

Thanks for sharing.
Is that Checker cab in the show, or is that being used? Also I notice those people have shorts on. It's currently 6F here, which I think is about -15c

The old Melbourne Exhibition Buildings
Interesting history (for those that like historic buildings). You can read about it here: http://museumvictoria.com.au/reb/

Good to see that red '62 Parisienne Wagon. I'm fairly sure that it was the same car which was used in several Variety Club Bashes. My neighbor was a team member in a car (not the wagon) and he told me about a big red Pontiac Wagon in the same event.
Those cars suffer pretty badly on the bashes and a lot of them don't survive. I saw a red '62 wagon being offered for sale after it had completed a bash. It was all set up ready to go again but maybe someone has "saved" it. It still looks like its jacked up high and its still got Sunraysia wheels fitted. Ian

To tell you the honest truth I just use a point and shoot compact digital camera set on auto. it's a Panasonic Lumix TZ20. just hold the camera steady. Try and get the sun behind me or if I can't use forced flash to fill in the shadows.

We had a very warm 36°C (97°F) that day. I definitely would rather this than your -15°C, you can keep that. |
