I think it was 8-9 years ago. My brother bought it from someone in California. I talked him to buying it because I knew what it was and how extremely rare it was. He brought it over to my house to have me check it out. Man that's a cool car! He only kept it for a couple of months before he resold it. (He didn't like the color!) I believe it went back to Ca. when he sold it.

I'm putting together a timeline for the Formula. Thanks, I can assume it was in Sundance at that time?

BTW: Paint still good on car so must be over 10 years? Also, the jambs and trunk are original paint.

Your cars are sweet 2 72s is like TATA!

I'm currently down to the pair of '72 T/A's. The #'s tend to change without notice. (A lot of us here have this same problem)
I have been very busy last year making changes and improvements to the stick car. The intent was to rebuild and reinstall the original matching # block, and undo what I did back in the 80's. (Mostly chrome, headers, aftermarket wheels, blue spoiler welting, AM/FM Cassette, etc.) Well, that snowball started going downhill fast. It didn't take long before the entire front half of the car was on the floor scattered all over the garage.
After reading and watching all you guys for years, I was excited to get to work on the car and try to bring it back to what it should look like.
I would like to thank all of you guys for contributing to this forum, as it helps us all.

Jay,

Nice looking work you've done there. Thanks for sharing.

I bet your brother is Robert in Kaysville, Utah and he bought from Craig F who had for 9 years?

If so he owned car from 10/15/04-1/15/05 and sold to Mike R in CA and he owned and got things fixed up. He owned it for 8 years until I got it. I'm 5th owner of this orphan. haha

You are correct Mike. I'm sure it still has the same paint job now as it did back then. It looked great then too. I'm glad to see it went to a very good home.
Bob, Thanks! Coming from you, that's a great compliment. You do awesome work.
I'm envious of all you guys with your 72 HO Formulas! (And NJ Steve with his 73 SD) I'm a true Formula lover as my first car in 1980 was this yellow 72 Formula 350 4 speed, and my second car in 1981 was this white/white '72 Formula 350 auto. When I found the 72 4spd T/A I have now, I sold the white Formula to a good friend. I miss those 2 scoops. One of the best looking factory hoods ever!

Have to love GA winters. After what seems like 2 plus weeks of no sun and allot of rain, it was 58 and sunny yesterday. Went out to burn some hydrocarbons!

RicksGTO, Norwood and TheBoss: Thanks for the kind words. For many the Green colors, particularly Keylime Green, on early 2nd generations are either a love or a hate relationship. My personal favorite is 71's Laurentian green.

I just wish my wife was not in the "Hate it" camp!

Well, if you happen to find that Laurentian car, feel free to offer up the Keylime!

here's a '71 Laurentian Green 455HO I should have bought when it was for sale, numbers matching with a boatload of options including handling package and I think it was $12k at the time around 2005-06

As long as we are listing them. Here is one that GregDog sold a couple years back. Likely to a PY member. Low optioned 455 HO, 4-speed set up for drag racing. Greg did a fine restoration on it. I really like what this color does for the body lines.

Is that second pic a glow-in-the-dark Firebird?
