Revisit Priming with Push Rod cover off?

Sorry if this is a duplicate message - my wireless disconnected right as I hit submit

I did this yesterday. Saw a fair amount of oil seep past the lifters. Is this normal? I figure some should seep but I don't have a good feel for how much.

I ran the drill for about 45 seconds and had oil seep past all the lifters.
