How much clearance should you have between the rocker arm and the spring retainer? I have Crower springs and retainers and Comp Cams roller tip rockers. I have roughly .006 clearance with the rockers adjusted. Is this too tight??

Sounds pretty tight. I had a similar problem with my setup using Comp Cams roller tips. To make a long story short, I ended up getting a set of Scorpion roller rockers. They fit much better with a little cutout in the back and more clearance on top. I also had to re-check my geometry and needed new pushrods. Last but not least, If you want to run stock valve covers with the Scorpions, get yourself 2 sets of 1/4 gaskets...Have fun...
