Default Picture editing programs

I'm looking for a user friendly (a.k.a. dumbed down) program for editing digital pictures. Something that lets you scroll through a folder full of pictures in sequence quickly and make adjustments and finalize all changes at one time.

What are some of you working with?

On my PC at work I used Irfanview, it's a popular free download. It has limited features for editing photos with Photoshop-type stuff, but it's good for adjusting picture size, orientation, contrast and brightness, etc. It also has a batch feature, so for example it can resize an entire folder full of picture files with one command. Another free download is Gimp, it has more capabilities for editing.
