Default What is it worth? 1971 Gt-37

I was kicking around the idea of selling my 1971 GT-37. With the economy as it is, should I just hold onto it? I hardly drive it. Quezal gold. Pretty much everything is redone or reconditioned...only the rear end needs to be done yet(or replaced), High output (non-original) 350/350 auto on column. Engine:zero decked, #47 heads with enlarged valves, 1.65 ratio, XE268 cam, Edelbrock intake, quadrajet, headers, Pypes X-haust, Rodney Red radiator. Jackson Performance Trans with 2200 stall.
New paint: Completely stripped and PPG BC/CC. NO RUST! Underside clean, but not redone.
What do you think I could get for it??? Or...talk some sense into me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice car, what would you want for it?

Any interior pictures?

Okay, why do you never drive it? It looks like a car anyone would be proud to drive. To sink the money to bring it to that level must have been a labor of love.

It looks to be a solid body GT-37 with all the factory goodies. If the interior is clean thats a bonus. Any before pix?

I know even a clean car with a professional paint with some minor body prep has to be 10-20K on a good day.

Engine rebuild and other stuff is on top of that. Plus the new parts added from the repoppers is usually around 5-10K.

So, If you have put close to 30K and want to sell you would be losing shirt. 10-12K and the right buyer is my guess as it loses value with even a 350 HO as a NOM with auto on tree.

Do you have OEM engine/trans?

Default few more pics.

I'm just trying to get a few opinions about what it is worth/what it could sell for. Maybe buy different project? I wouldn't let it go for low $teens...I'd lose my shirt! I'll post a few more pics.

20 would buy a decent GTO right now...ive looked at 11 70-71 GTOs recently and 19-22,000 will buy a really nice car...not rare but nice...i think your car is low to mid teens..hence...keep it for now, wait til the market gets better and then sell..OR trade it for a project and get some cash...many people half way thru a resto are dumping cars for pennies on the dollar investment..ive seen many..they are tired of working on them and want a done car...

Killer car, but I only got $12,100 for my 90k mile all numbers matching 1 repaint 71 GTO 2 years ago and there are several more available around here for less now. We have a bad habit around here of saying something is worth $$$$$ but not taking the money out of our wallets for it. What something is worth & what you will buy it for are vastly different numbers!

That would make a great FAST car with a 71 455HO motor in it.

Thought about that too (sticking in a 455) since it isn't the original engine anyway. Pontiac parts are scarce around these parts. Also, will take me a couple years or more to save funds to do so. We had a car dealer about an hour away from Bismarck in a small town, advertise a two owner, red 1971 GTO 455 car in the paper a month ago. Asking $8900. I was like, Do'h!!!!! Catholic school custodians don't have much extra coin to throw around!
I should just be happy with what I got (since it's paid for). Work out the tuning issues (timing, advance, idle, rear redo). And drive the thing....Oops! winter is here...Put in storage for the next 6 months.

Speaking from experiance, never sell a car when feeling blue [or generous], will wish you never did!

Default 1972 Lemans for sale 7k

Thought I'd post this...it's been for sale all summer long on our local internet site for our area. I think it is on the ND, Canada border on the east side of the state.

That one will never sell at that price. Yours is far nicer and more desirable.
