Default "928" Alternators in 10DN configuration

I have seen many 928's lately in 10DN configuration, and dated in 72-74 era. Is this due to rebuilding? Shouldn't they ALL be a 10si?

Yes, should be SIs. I have seen several rebuilt alternators with mixed up front and rear halfs, including some open faces.

The last 928 I had I got at Auto zone. I just happened to be at the counter when a guy brought it in as a core. I bought it from him 15.00 from him, it was in DN and he said it was off his 67 GTO. So yes these rebuilders mix them all up.
