Default Little Freezeplugs on SM heads?

Those dinky little freezeplugs, are you all just knocking them out and raplacing them with a 3/8npt plug?

That would def be an upgrade we have a set with a couple thousand miles On them and so
Far no issues these were out of the box installed

Here's what I did, came out pretty good. I had to slightly expand the hole to start the tap. I'll threadlock them in after a good cleaning.

You might want to get a Allen head style plug.

Anything but an iron pipe plug, I’d never use iron.

These are stainless steel, think they will be okay? Otherwise I'll pick up some brass ones.

Those also have me worried about popping out and milk shaking the motor. But figure Pontiac used plugs in the main oil galleries that would be more catastrophic if they come out!

SM has two plugs like those in their Air Gap SBC intake valley cover in the middle.
