Order 1967-1969 Firebird headers as the subframe is the same as your Ventura. .

I use the Hedman 67-69 Firebird headers, they are excellent header, thick flanges and never leak.
http://www.jegs.com/i/Hedman/500/35270/10002/-1 They are however, extremely close to the oil filter, and some oil filters will not work with them (too long). Mine are over 20 years old and still in great shape after all these years......Cliff

Cliff - I "always" use the caddie 425 filter. Pretty sure it is caddy 425, 77-79 years. K&N's HP-2006 is their version. If I can get a larger filter to fit, then so be it, but these folks who loosen headers or whatever for every oil change...I don't get that. |

Thanks Lou, I've been using the NAPA Gold Pontiac filter and "shoe-horning" it in place. I'd like to find something slightly shorter, but still full diameter.
I've tried several of the "mini" filters that will fit the housing, and have had very POOR results with them. They just don't flow enough with the bypass blocked off, or at least I think that is why they don't work well?......Cliff

Have you or anyone you know tried a remote filter set up? It seems like an adapter with two braided hoses would get you to a frame mounted full sized filter no? It obviously wouldn't look stock but then again neither do the headers........
