Angry Mail delivery issues

OK Venting here

Is anyone else getting monthly bills late? After the due dates? I don’t do any account transactions on line or have auto pays set up due to being hacked once. The postal service is Screwing everything up! 😡 last week I just got my Dec Bill from Verizon, they added interest and late fees to the tune of $145. Today I got my January bill that was due on the 25th which means it’s now late again!! There’s no post mark on the envelopes to prove it. You try and call and are on hold for an hour. Then there’s nothing in the prompter to get help, absolutely ridiculous!! My bill is not the same every month so I cannot pre pay it. Other monthly bills have been affected as well that could give us a bad credit report the postal service should be held accountable IMO.

Anyone else having mail delivery issues that affect your bills? And what recourse is there if any?

Pay them online through your bank.

It’s 2021 already.

Our bills are all set to autopay. When we set up a new account, we reach out to pay them, then set up autopay.

We never wait for mail.

A Christmas gift for my wife sat in the Montgomery AL postal center for 12 days according to the tracking number, showed up the Saturday we were going to see kids and grands in FL. We spoke to others having similar issues, common in remote rural area where we live.

Also, USPS is now partnered with FedEx and UPS to do some kind of joint shipping. Probably contributing to delays.

Years ago, I converted to automatic billing on virtually all our bills. All those utilities can use your checking account numbers to automatically debit your bank accounts with very little risk. Note that the numbers they use to do that automatic billing are the same numbers visible on every check you write anyway so it is all visible with every check you write.

That said, the post office has been slow lately. I sent a two-day Priority Mail package last month that took eight days to arrive and there were no weather problems between here and the destination during that time.

Late.… Damaged..... Not showing up at all..... Will someone please explain to me WHY we should still be using such an incompetent operation like USPS? If it was one of your parts suppliers you'd abandon them in a heartbeat.

As mentioned.... This is 2021.

Yes seems like the mail in Ohio is a mess. I have had many issues in the last 2-3 months. Just one I mailed a cam 3 day priority it showed up 29 days later. It only went to Michigan.

All of the delivery services have been extremely slow for the past year. Our mail has been very late for several months. We didn't even get one of our Christmas cards until January 15th and it was postmarked December 12th.
Some of our USPS stuff has also been lost, with notices that state "Sorry you'll have to reorder it"

UPS has also been late all year long with delayed shipments. In fact I had one I ordered a week ago, was due yesterday the 28th. I got an email last night it won't be here till Monday now. A few UPS shipments over the last few months have been lost as well. One coming from Summit just a stone throw away in Nevada, never showed after 3 days. Usually here the next day. I had to call only to find out it was in Kentucky for some reason, and instead of shipping it back this way to Arizona they sent it back to Summit in Ohio, then Colorado and eventually back to Arizona. It took 2 weeks to get that order that should have been here the next day!

Of course they blame everything on the beer virus. So that's going to be my excuse moving forward from now on lol

Yeah we've never jumped on that auto pay bandwagon either, or using cell phones to scan etc... That's all scary chit, too much theft going on.

You would think the services we pay a monthly bill for would be a little more understanding to this problem and allow grace periods there’s no post marks on the envelopes to prove when you received it. So what do we do?? Just keep paying the late fees and interest added fees because the postal service is screwed up causing the problems?? I’m beyond MAD!

I have a simple LG flip phone, cannot do much on it, cannot do APS and the fancy stuff Verizon wants to send me a one time PIN# but my phone cannot apply it without dis connecting and putting the PIN into it. By then it’s timed out.

Our bank got hacked and so did one of our accounts, will never do stuff on line where our accounts are concerned again. Still trying to fix that with a Lawyer involved. Now this problem with the mail holding up our bills.

Credit reporting is for accounts over 30 days late, you are likely OK. I would call and ask for second level supervisor at Verizon, they will probably waive fees after explaining. I love the USPS and have had no issues in years, except a year ago I couldn't find a new gas bill. I have no idea if I lost or they did. I do monthly budget, and know bill due dates, so in that case I called, they emailed me a bill and on time.

I recently ordered a very very very expensive item $1000 +. It was supposed to be delivered the 23rd. The seller shipped it USPS. They keep telling me it's gonna be late but it's in transit. Don't say where.
It was also shipped Priority mail. Now they tell you there's NO guarantee it will be on time. But we still pay the price for it. I'm getting worried .

I thought there was some kind of COVID protection for late payments, but am guessing that's just for essentials like mortgage/rent and utilities?

Same here regarding allowing companies ungated access to bank accounts...too may mistakes/headaches. Had an issue with repeated overdraws from TWC/Spectrum that took forever to rectify. Likewise, I tied my PayPal account to a credit card, instead of a bank account.

So far I have called and had the late charge removed on anything that’s been late with no problem. They do tell you “you know you can do that online” thanks.
