Default 68 Steel wheels and poverty caps

Going to paint my steel wheels the correct Meridian Turquoise. Is there a different color for the back of the wheel or is it the same as the front?

Thanks!

Are you sure that Meridian was available on wheels? I thought that l researched that years ago but l could certainly be wrong.

Yes. Picture of paint finishes for Pontiac 68 A bodies. Wheel colors available were Starlight Black, Alpine Blue, Nordic Blue, April Gold, Meridian Turquoise.

Is that yours? It looks very similar to yours. We spoke once before. I have a Meridian Turquoise/Aqua/Black vinyl top Tempest Custom. You don't see that combination often. I did see a Tempest Convertible OHC6 car at 2019 POCI Nationals that was Meridian Turquoise.

Is it high gloss black or something else like 60 degree gloss black?

That I couldn't tell you. According to the paint charts, the front of the wheel was 100% gloss. I did a search here, and there doesn't seem to be a consensus of the back side gloss level, just that it was black.

And now you brought back to me what color I want to paint my steel wheels. My car is Solar Red and has black wheels. I'm still trying to decide if I want to paint them body color. I plan to run 3/8" whitewalls and keep telling myself that will break up the black tire / wheel color, but...
Something about red.

Sorry, I just saw that you already posted the interior color. You are right, usually with the black top you see a black interior. I vaguely recall communicating with you about that car now. Post some pics up when you get a chance.
By the way, I'm a huge fan of the Krylon "Rust Tough" gloss black for that application. I know it's just rattle can stuff but it is a very good quality and the gloss level tones down to a perfect 60% to my eye. It's very durable as well. It's what I used on the wheels in the picture you posted. They're in my basement now and they still look great.

Brian's stunning '68 Cammer is actually Alpine Blue.

Definitely not full gloss, I'd say 60% is about right

Thanks everyone for the advice. Attached are a few pics of the car and wheels before paint. The wheels are exact same specs as the Weld Pro Stars I am taking off so I can use the tires and keep the stance.

I think I saw that OHC 6 Tempest Custom convertible at the POCI Nationals in Gettysburg 2019.

That interior pic jogged my memory. I remember now talking to you about the car and the paint that you used for the steering wheel. The color is perfect.
