Default Fan shrouds

What year fan shrouds are the same? I know the after-markets state 1970 - 1981, but I know there are differences between the different years. Does anybody have a list of the different fan shrouds used between 1970 - 1981?

Parts book showing 70-76 F Body V8 p/n 779066 however at some point in 76 the part number changed to 10011265 for 76-81 F body with pontiac V8's. Non pontiac motors had different p/n shrouds

Easier to know what you were after, year and engine.

I have a very nice uncracked fan shroud out of a 1981 Turbo T/A. Fortunately, I mostly have 1970 - 1974 Firebirds.

I'm trying to decide if this part can be used on earlier cars, or if I should just sell it. I don't have an earlier fan shroud handy to do a side-by-comparison with, but I think maybe the return hose connection to the radioator on the early stuff might be larger.

Some shrouds have a square cut hole next the the radiator overflow location. I think it is for late models. Sometime in 77 I think they began putting a removable piece on the bottom to clear the fan during removal/installation.

Those didn't come out until 80 or 81.

Although an 81 shroud will directly fit any year 2nd gen from a functionality standpoint. But like Poncho Dave states, that square hole is a dead give away.
