What?

Thanks but it's too nice for me to drive, besides, I like a little variety.

I'll wait until the end to guess, but it's going to be big, far more than my **** is worth!

I would HOPE it's the sale price without buyers premium.

Just look at Milton Robson's collection sales in a soft market in 2010 such as this 1969 Chebby Camaro that was one of 69 built that sold for $418,000:

http://www.rmauctions.com/lots/lot.cfm?lot_id=567667

And his 1 of 17 Ram Air IV convertible Firebird sold for $286,000 with commissions.

Then his 1 of 5 Ram Air IV Convertible 4 speed Judge sold for $682,000 with commissions.

....and we all recall this crappy fake prototype (*look at the rivets!- doh!) for sale at $200K+ or so:

https://www.facebook.com/pontiactestcartransamprototype

Ok kidding there.

But seriously the closest comp would be a 1969 Trans Am Convertible. I recall one recently at auction that hit $1.1M and didn't sell - as it was valued at $1.3M a few years back.

But 1 of just 2 Prototype Trans Am in absolutely perfect newly restored condition?!?!

I will say being no reserve, it sells for $861,000 without commission. But honestly topping a million wouldn't surprise me. Totally worth that.

Find another - right?

That 1.1 for the T/A convertible was not real money, the biding stopped and they ran it to 1.1. It would be interesting to know what the last real money bid was.

Kinda what I felt... that is why I think this much rarer prototype will "only" get to $800K-ish.

$570,000. Of course it's just a wild guess. I haven't the slightest clue what it will bring.

It will bring way less than it should. It'll bring about the same $$ as some POS resto-mod '69 Camaro.

I'm going to say $200,001.98... and I think that's optimistic.

Default 69 Firebird.

I'll say $465,000.00 before commissions.

Question I dunno....

as a car of this caiber is unprecedented in this arena. Provinenceis one thing...documenting the journey. What happened along the way with this car is NOT inconsequential! Basically...it was autographed by eveyone who's anyone in Pontiac Nation. OK...so John Delorean HAND-PICKED the car...in what was then considered a European color....which was kind of a "JD" thing....as he developed the OHC 6 for direct competition with the European market...most likely in the F-Body format...but I digress. Next...it is "daily driven" by no other than Jess Tyree...rhymes with "are you kidding me?". Sold after only one year but used in "aerodynamic testing"....read "speed". Wonder if it came with the 3.90 or 4.33's standard with the RAIV. However at this point, I.m betting there is not much "standard" on this beast. Anyway...restoration by Scott...need I say more. I was a little disappointed that it wasn't rebuilt by Scott...as I've been told he's an even better engine builder than he is a restoration guru...which I find hard to believe knowing Scott's work first hand. Guess we'll have to settle for Dan Jensen's work. No down side here...as I know of no one anywhere near as well-versed on the Pontiac engine than Dan and of the brain trust at his fingertips. Did I mention sold to Royal Pontiac...love to see the test and get some times more telling of the actual performance of the car "in the day". If Dan and Scott "schmoozed" this car at all...it would be running 10's on Wide Ovals at Milan...and I'm not joking. Anyway...this is a car I could only dream of owning...and Mattison...yeah...Jim has verified it all. Any questions? All I know is a '70 Chevelle X-race car brought a million bucks...hoping this one brings at least that. I was watching the episode of "What's My Car Worth" where they sold Mattison's '67 GTO. Jim was looking for @ 70k....dude told him "realistically" it would be closer to @ $50k. Gaveled at 105K...just sayin'...
