455 Rocker Emblem Mounting hardware
I'm wanting to add the 455 emblems to the rocker panels on my LeMANS. The emblems have arrived and have two holes that look like a good place for a screw but I expected them to be threaded or thicker if I was using a screw to cut threads.
What is the proper fastener to attach these with? Does anyone no how far they are supposed to be back from the fender opening? |

Not sure what year your LeMans is, but on my 70 Tempest the rocker emblems use self tapping screws about 5/16" long and 5/32" diameter. The first mounting hole starts at about 4-11/16" back from the wheel well and about 2" up from the bottom. Hopefully someone has a source for the screws, I've been looking without any luck.

My 428 rocker molding emblems have these screws. I may have a box.

I would have thought screws would have come with the new emblems are worst case you had to buy them separate but sold with them if you needed them.
At least I know what they look like now. |

If your rocker trim isn't already drilled, make a template for drilling them. The bosses for one of the screws on mine was offset slightly from horizontal. Ask me how I know. Thank god I drilled small pilot holes first to check the alignment and was able to elongate one hole up slightly and one hole down slightly to get them level.
