How can I attach my 1/2 aluminum line to my steel braided hose. Is there a compression fitting that can be used. Please help I am stuck right now until I get this done.

Slowbird:
You need to get and AN818-8 nut and AN819-8 sleeve and flare the end of the tube with a 37 degree flaring tool(don't forget to install the nut and the sleeve first) Then get a AN815-8 union and you can attach the two together.

Thanks now the only question I have is where can I get 37 degree flaring kit. Is that just a normal flaring kit or is that a special angle. With kind of help I will have the car running in no time!

I use a regular flaring tool sold at any hardware store. It has like 5 different sizes for different pipe. Lowe's has it for $19.99. These work well on aluminun pipe but tend to wear out when used repetivley on steel such as brake lines. As far as the 37 degree flare, I know nothing about that. I do know that I've had no problems with the tool I use.

Slowbird:
You can find a 37 degree flaring tool at any aviation tool supply store. Where are you getting your AN fittings from? They should have one also.

slowbird,
Try Grainger or McMaster-Carr, they carry 37 degree flaring tools. There is a wide range in prices, more expensive models are designed to do stainless tubing.
Good luck,
Herb
