I think some confuse the 3310 carbs as "factory" carbs. I know that's a general term thrown around but many of the holley carbs that are actually OEM and appear like the 3310 vacuum secondary are actually 4053's and are of the 780 variety and actually do have a rear metering block and factory equipped with a rear power valve.

Chevrolet used them heavily on all their performance models.

DZ carbs come to mind, as well as L78's and L-72's

That carb gets mixed up with the basic 3310 all the time as being the same thing. Sometimes these posts don't make it very clear exactly what we are dealing with.

Then there were the over the counter replacement 780's referred to as 3310's that throws in more confusion when dealing with questions on the internet.

In a nut shell, some came factory equipped with rear power valves and some didn't. I think the confusion starts with the OP's description having a 3310 780 and not knowing which one it is.

All he has to do is post up the info on the choke horn as it will clearly say if it is a #3310
carb. As far as the the OP supplying more identification I have on the shelf at least 15
of the Chevrolet carbs stamped with the Chevrolet numbers on the airhorn.
Most are basic Z-28 and 396 Chevelle/Nova factory carbs.

Agree a good first step would be to post the info on the Carb Airhorn.

But the topic was about a "950" Holley carb so would be good to have those airhorn numbers too.

Carb has no airhorn but it was a 3310-1 with a secondary metering block installed. But like Tom says, the topic was about the 950 HP (80676) Let's get past the 3310

Can you post up the list # for the 950 carb off the airhorn?
Is the carb a 4 corner idle carb and a double pumper?

Tom there's no choke/airhorn, the list number is 80676. It's a 950 HP with 4 corner idle and double pumper.

That makes it at least a -6 version of the Holley 950 HP carb.

That carb should be drilled/threaded for 5 holes for the emulsion passages and most likely the #2 and #4 passages plugged.

The Kill Bleed drillings on the upper "dogleg" of the metering block do not get counted as an emulsion holes.
