Default fuel past booster ring

i need some help here.holley 850 spread bore-worked fine all last year, today on a hard run let off and it stalled.got it started and it was flooding out.wont idle fuel runs out past the booster rings, took it apart blew every thing out, checked power valve was ok,put it back on same thing.tried another good power valve, same thing.why would it keep pulling fuel out the booster and flooding engine? this is driving me nuts,do metering blocks go bad? thanks for any help.bob

Regardless what it "Looks" like replace the needle/seat, do a submerge test on the float, and replace the metering plate to mainbody gasket. JD

Check for bad fuel line from pump to tank. Rusted metal line sucking air or rotted rubber line at tank or plugged fuel sock in tank. Does the carb catch fire when you try to start it sometimes too?

carb works good 3/8ths throttle or more just wont idle because fuel is running out the booster rings.i did lower float adj some but it was already ok.

So fuel level is good, no gas pouring out of the sight plug?

Check all the air bleeds, blow them out with carb cleaner/air.

Check metering block for signs of fuel weepage from port to port.

blew out bleeds, replaced gaskets, float is good, replaced needle n seat.put it together and still does the same thing.i can keep it running if hold the throttle open but gas just runs out the booster ring flooding it.what would make it start pulling fuel like that all the sudden?
