Lee I’m sorry I’m a computer dumbie I can’t link. But go back to the site click on company (in blue) it will take you to the front page. At the bottom of that page you will see 6 or 7 pictures of crankshafts saying April promotions. Click on the the blue link saying forged cranks. It will open the catalog page look at the 30% off $500 red highlighted cranks. When you find it. Can you link it to help others. Thx

Bottom of page Looks like two Pontiac Crank part numbers, but it appears to me both are 3.25” main journals, 4.5” stroke. Maybe different rod journal sizes? Not much information, just a pic, part number and price. Both parts listed at $500. Probably a decent deal if you need that crank?

Ok, thanks Matt! I clicked on the links. Looks like the "A" crank is 3.00" mains and the "B" is 3.25".

What is the most power anyone has ever pushed through one of these cranks ? I noticed they did not have any 4.25 small journal cranks.

They used to carry the small journal 4.25" stroke but must be out of stock. I bought one a few years ago when they were on sale for $479 IIRC.

They have a 4.21 stroke 3" main Pontiac rod journal(2.25") ( it could be offset ground to BBC journal and 4.25 stroke if you wanted)
They also have 4" and 4.375" stroke 3" main BBC journal as well as the $500 on sale 4.5" stroke. http://www.racingpartsmaximum.com/fo...sae4340-4.html |

Forgive me, just terminology. "Crank pins" exactly what holes are you referring to ? How many holes are there on a crank ? Oil holes, balancing holes, threaded balancer bolt hole, flywheel bolt holes and hole for input shaft bearing/bushing.
Which ones are crank pins ? |

Looking from the front of the crank (or the rear) typically there is a bored hole in the rod journal/crank throw that removes weight from the crank mass in that area. The "hole" is apparent in the first throw of the crank in the picture. The rod journal is also called the "crank pin"

Tom has it, some to me just look to large near 1 inch or more and some look to be just around 1/2 inch, the larger ones in my opinion inhearently weaken the crank, rather have more meat.
And Tom showed a pic of a Ford crank Pontiac cranks typically have that hole almost clear through Pontiac had variences as well some were solid some had holes in the crank pins

There are enough really GOOD Rod and Piston offerings out there that having a "large crank pin hole" is not really necessary.
Strength is King and the good rods and pistons are strong and light. Thank you for pointing out the Ford Crank, it was just a good example of the bored hole. Tom V.

Here is a picture of two crankshafts, side by side for comparison of the size of the pin hole.
