Default 535 turbo dyno day results

well my 535 pontiac made right what i hoped for n.a. it made 579 hp and 609 tq on a quickie tune i'm sure we could have gotten over 600 if we would have spent more time but that was good enough for a base line n.a. i know it doesnt sound like a ton for a 535 but remember it is setup for a turbo. 8.5 compression and lots of duration that kills cylinder pressure. had some troubles getting the boost to come up but once we figured out the problem , holy ****!
it made 749 hp and 943 tq at 12 psi. with some more timing we got the tq to 1043 and hp to 882. then we added some more boost. at 15 psi it made 961 hp and 1149 tq. ****! how am i gonna hook that?

i want to give thanks to frank and bob, kevin , marcel and dave, and turbo dave for all the good parts and help. and to all the py guys for the input and nice comments

Great job!!!
how much total timing did you end up with at the 15# of boost and A/F numbers at max
power.
i think you and i are the only ones with E-85 and boost with a pontiac right now.

thanks,
brad

thanks Rob,
on how to hook it, you better get a msd digital box to control the timing, and good luck! that is a ton of HP and torque in the low rpms, better have a stout converter too.
mine made 939RWHP and who know the RWTQ, i went back to the dyno guy and he said the 1250TQ couldn't be right and tried some diff. software, and it showed only 850TQ. i was only at 18.2*timing at full boost of 24#, tried 20* and hurt the head gaskets. this was with a boost retard setup, i am not going to use it this time as i am 100% sure it was doing what it was supossed to.

best luck with you combo, are you going to be at Norwalk?
Brad.

Very nice! You have to be proud of that.

One question though. The oil pressure on the second video was strange. Pressure was way up at around 90 psi at 2K RPM and then started dropping during the pull and the operator didn't abort? Maybee I'm looking at the wrong value on the screen?
Hope it's not wounded.

Brian

Thats a good start - but seems like that carb is way small -- just my opinion -- and BTW - Neil Chance makes great convertors for turbo cars - call turbo people in NY and they will get yo set up

Awesome!

You were running E85 correct? If so, how did you tune the wideband for E85?

Or is it the same as Gas?
