Default SHAKER TUNED CUSTOM DOMINATOR

I just finished this custom 1050 Dominator for forum member Bnick166 for his CV-1 headed 468.

Some features are:
External linkage w/adjustable ratio
Double step 12 hole annular boosters
2-circuit race blocks
Casting shelf removed & blended
Stage 2 transition passage with screw in transition jets
Screw in bypass air system

Most parts are custom made and some are one off.

I will be preforming live testing during the week and possibly run it on EngineMasters Lenny Caverly's engine dyno on top of his son's Bobby Caverly's IA-2, Tiger head 505.

I like the pretty colors! I remember when the last time I back to backed my q-jet against an HP 950 with anodized metering blocks and boosters, and outran it......ooops!

Seriously, when did Lenny get a dyno? I guess the fuel cost to drive all the way to KRE would easily pay for one! Anything coming from Lenny for the Engine Masters Competition(s)?

Keep up the good work, and let us know how the CV-1 headed engine works?......Cliff

What would the cost be to have this done or to get a new carb setup like this?

Yep,
I like the pretty colors too as per the customers spec, but I have to advise you there are no as you say "trick of the day" billet metering blocks here...

The blocks are the end result of many GM & Ford R&D dollars making them the best "CAST" units Holley ever produced!

I'm sure you did out run a pretty boy smoking mirror HP 950....HeHe!

750 mainbody with an 850 base depending on what model you get....most likely a Pro-Systems..

Len got a Land & Sea engine dyno in the spring and I don't think he's left the shop since!

KRE invited us to use the dyno in 04' so they could get some R&D on there D-ports and I'm not sure if Len intends to enter this year as he has other business on his plate.

Slowbird,
PM for contact info.

Why wouldn't he use bowl extensions on that carb?
Looks like he went all out otherwise.

That was probably the best investment I made on my carbs when I ran them.

Now would that be the higher price you quoted me the other day? Per carb? or for both?

Damn, it be different to have black main bodies with chrome or gold bowls...bandit style!

That price range was to work both and a bandit style set up can be done.

"Len got a Land & Sea engine dyno in the spring and I don't think he's left the shop since!"

That's good news, with his passion for making big power, he needs his own dyno!

Are you coming to Norwalk this year? We'll be making our first 1/4 mile runs there with the new engine. Just haven't had the time to do any testing locally, other that a couple of passes on an 1/8th mile track, just to see if it would stay together!......Cliff

Jeff, can you calibrate one of these custom dominators for running E85?
I might be interested in a Bandit edition also!

Brian,
Yes I can calabrate one but you must realize it requires new parts that resist the corresion.

That fuel is not that great and the only thing at the moment that's good about it is the current price.....Not worth it!

You pay less at the pump but you use more...go figure!

If you have to mess with E-85 you might as well go to methanol and see some real benefits in power.

Unless you think you are getting a bargain at the pump, as Shaker says.

Tom,

I was just discussing Brad's recent E85 deal with Don tonight...with the same exact response/analogy.

So I guess I'm not as dumb as I thought you said I was, LOL!

Herb, you are too smart, my friend, to actually believe that chit you just posted. (I hope) (:>))

Well here is my thinking.
My new combo with the wideports is going to be around 11:1,maybe slightly higher.
Im at the edge of pump gas but could run it.
Super unleaded here is 4.40 a gal.
E85 is 3.09 a gal.(about 25% cheaper)
So even if i burn more e85 and it comes out to the same cost as the gas in the end,i get the benifit of knowing my motor is not detonating into the ground with the 105 octane E85.
I have to buy a new carb anyway because i have to go with a 4500 style.
I have to buy a new fuel pump anyway because im on the edge of exceding this pumps capabilities.
So,im thinking it might be worth it.
As far as corrosion,i have been doing alot of reading and most that actually use the e85 say its not as corrosive as methanol. They run it in reg holleys calibrated for the extra volume and are having no problems with corrosion.
