Exclamation 1962 Cat water pump replacement

Newbie here. WP makes a loud growling sound when first engine is started but, after warm up sounds like small rocks in a can. Believe issue to be WP bearings so will be changing out soon. Question: any particular issues with the replacement process ( I have a Cardon pump) or is it straight forward like on Chevvies?
Thanks

If you do a SEARCH, you'll find lots of discussion of four-bolt pumps on these forums, including NAPA part number of the cast-impeller pump.
