Default 8.2 diff cover vs 8.5?

hey gang, will a 8.5 cover fit on a 8.2?

Reason is I would like the alum ones mainly because they are flat and there are not a lot of choices, if any for a simple alum 8.2.

The old one on my car is slightly bent around the bolt holes.

Some listings say 8.2. and 8.5. for the same cover.

The 8.2 has the scallops in the sides but the carrier looks like it will accept the straight sided 8.5...to the same overall size and bolt holes????

The aftermarket aluminum covers fit both the 8.2 and 8.5 rear ends.
