My first '64 GTO was mint turquoise. Love that color! Your car looks great!

Went to put in the black rectangle vents in the door jambs by the door lock posts and there's no place for it. These are nos rear 1/4s and never saw where these have no openings cut out for the vents. Did the eliminate the vents on the 71-72 cars?

The replacement nos GM 1/4's did not have the vent holes cut out. If you need a tracing let me know & I can get you one off of one of my cars.

Never knew that til now,,thanks. The body guy said if I really want them in he would cut them in. I told him probably someone here would have the measurements since we already threw the old 1/4s away.. Im OK leaving them out without going through the work but do I really need them?

Got a little farther. Gapping hood to nose and fenders suck. Gotta try to get it to a happy medium. Color came out pretty close to the original paint sample found under weatherstripping

Scott - Simply awesome! That is my favorite '70 paint color. Your GTO is looking great in the new paint.

Even if it were a Judge i wouldn't want to put any stripes or decals back on it.
That color does it all , all by itself .
Looks Great
and a nice match to the sample

That looks great Scott! I'd love to see it one of these days. I do like the D98 stripe on the '70 A-body's...GTO's, LeMans', & Tempests...all of them. I wish they made a 4-dr version!

I agree with others on this one. Beautiful colour and it really looks good with the saddle interior. I also have a car with a camel saddle interior combination that looks almost as good.

Not really. They're for the "Flow through" ventilation when windows are up.

If it gets stuffy inside, just crack a window open. Thats SOP with my '68.

And agree with others, it's beautiful, get her together and enjoy her!

Thanks everyone...this restoration started a little over 2 years ago and it's almost done. I really miss driving it but should be able to put some miles on it this summer. The original intent was just body work and paint but morphed into more as the project went on....you tell yourself "if your going to do it nows the time" as the car is mostly dismantled. Even changed out all the glass to softray. That started as the original windshield was out but was slightly sandblasted over time. Bought a new softray windshield and thought it would look good if it was all softray....I was right!

That is a striking combination of colors. I can't imagine another that would make saddle look better than that.. Not a knock on saddle interiors...just saying that it really pops with that paint.

That's why vent windows are cool.
