This has been his "footer" on his posts since 2016 "Fastest Pontiac CV-1 car on the planet with only 6 passes on the combo: 4.80@147.65/ 7.49@180.12MPH (3365lbs)" 7.49 at 180 3365 lbs. Heavier than your car and quicker since 2016. Racing "Boost" again George??????? The topic is about Procharger superchargers, not BDS Roots supercharger stuff. Tom V. AGAIN, for the Original Poster, pm me and I will provide Brian's phone number.

Mods, please remove my posts and the posts of anything other than directly speaking about Prochargers and let the guy talk to Brian Hedrich.
PM to the OP with the same suggestion. Tom V.

I honestly don’t know I would like the car to run high-mid 9’s and be drivable. 3600# 68 Firebird.

The basic Procharger or Vortech Units should make that request target very easy to accomplish.
Talk to Mark at Luhn Performance and look at the kits he offers for both Brands of the Centrifugal Superchargers. Tom V. http://www.luhnperformance.com/ati.html

What could you get away with boost wise running 112 octane race fuel? E85?

The ideal compression ratio depends a lot on how much power you want to make at what Pressure Ratio. Some on the board have run 40+ psi of boost pressure on E85 but occasionally have issues with head gasket durability. This is on a "street car" running against other "street cars" in the New York area. This is with a measured compression ratio of 8.5 to 1 and a very good boost timing curve map.
Some who probably would never run over 20 psi, can get away with higher static compression ratios on E-85 fuel that has been tested to actually be E-85 to E-87, not the E-85 fuel that is advertised as E-85 fuel and tests in the low 70s for numbers. The 112 octane race fuel also has its variability. It depends on the supplier. At one time VP Racing Fuel was the fuel of choice there. Sorry I could not give you better info. I have no info on drag racing fuels. Tom V.

I would go with the E85 for a couple reasons............No.1 - supercharger cooling effect, you wouldn't need an intercooler the plumbing would be a pain in the neck (not as bad as a Turbo set up) but still a PAIN. a roots set up is pretty simple hence is why i went with it! No.2 - its less expensive a gallon then premium gas. No.3 - when I make a pass on a 80-90 degree day my 8-71 blower stays cool and my engine never gets over 175 degrees! when I was at Frankenmuths Autofest I could drive my car from the show car area back to the campgrounds and had no problems with heat, i could have driven it around all day if i wanted too! Just something to think about!
