Default Rear end width?

I found a 1967 Pontiac Tempest rear end at a swap meet today. It came out of a car that had been totaled. I know the car and the owner. The rear end was converted to a 3.55 posi-traction with the pre China Yukon gears. It still has the stock axles. It has also been converted to disc brakes.
I have a couple questions about it. First, I rough measured the width from the wheel mounting surfaces and got 60 3/4"s. Can someone tell me what the measurement would be on a drum brake set up? And, where can I find the codes stamped on the axle?
I would like to put this in my 67 GTO but I am very close on wheel clearance now with my stock rear end and the 17x8 Rally IIs from year one. I can't go any wider than what I have now. If the disc brake conversion widens the rear end would it help to revert to the drum brakes?

Size for the standard mid-year 1966 and later GTO differential is as follows:
Axle flange to axle flange is 60 15/16 inches
Backing plate to backing plate is 55 1/2 inches
Spring perch centerline to centerline is 35 inches
Shock mount centerline to centerline is 49 1/4 inches.

Thanks for the reply. I passed on this one today. When I rotated the gears by hand I felt a rough spot. It felt like the gears were binding up. Maybe damaged by the wreck.
