First thing I thought was too bad the hood bird is gone. .but totally “understand you like what you like “ and that’s what you should do what you enjoy. . Would look nice a a brighter blue and white hood bird though IMO. Either way spectacular car and story. Good job!

November 18 will make 50 years since getting my GTO. I bought it from the second owner, who bought it when it was 1 year old. His mother was friends with my mom, and I think I rode in it the first time about 1969. I would have been 12.

Default Ownership milestone

Bought my 71 GTO on 8-28-71. The only new car I ever owned. Resting in the garage with 112000 miles and still unrestored. Quetzal gold, black interior, 400, 4 speed, A/C, rally gauges, 8 track, honeycomb wheels,.

Wow, Terry! That was the exact date (8/28/71) of my 1st birthday!

Your 71 must have been near the last one produced?

I'm jealous. Such great cars! My 71 is a late Aug/early Sept 70 build, so as close as I could find to the week I was born.

Congrats to all you guys who are long time owners. Wish I could have ordered any of mine new. At least I still have my 67 Post GTO, 32 years this year. Best I could do.
