Any one use flux core MIG wire to weld in patch panels?Will the flux be a problem with the paint?

Use the gas shield method , much better all the way around .

Tom, Ditto to what Jim said, If you have a choice use gas sheilded (MIG). TIG welding is even better. The Flux core is difficult to clean properly, thus corrosion/bubbles later on, is probable. Good Luck

I've been using the flux core wire on body panels for ten years. Started with .035 wire and when the .030 became available I used it. You have to grind the weld seam no matter what method you use. I have had zero problems with paint after the use of flux core wire.
